2023 Back To School Supply Drive

We have kicked off our 2023 Back To School Drive. The goal for this year’s campaign is to collect enough money and school supplies to fill backpacks for 300 children. Backpacks with supplies will be given to children in need around Metro Atlanta and Athens, GA. This year’s Back To School Drive campaign runs through July 31. There are options to give a monetary donation to the foundation or drop off school supplies. To donate, go to dreamstokingsandqueens.com/donate.

We will have 3 opportunities for donors to bring school supplies and backpacks to the upcoming hiking events hosted by BLK Hiking Club July 8th, July 15th and July 22nd. School supplies needed include: glue sticks, crayons, markers, colored pencils, rulers, pencils, pens, folders, spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, highlighters and binders.

2022 Back To School Supply Drive

In 2022, we delivered 200 backpacks to schools around Metro Atlanta and Metro Denver, 12 boxes filled with school supplies to elementary, middle and high schools around Athens, GA and fulfilled 15 teachers Amazon wishlists. None of this would have been possible without the help of Marshelle Taylor-Jackson and the City of Johns Creek staff.

2021 Back To School Supply Drive

In 2021, we sent out 200 backpacks and 50 teacher boxes to schools throughout the state of Georgia. Despite COVID changing how we were able to operate we were happy to get back to helping the community.

2020 Back To School Supply Drive

Due to COVID-19 in 2020 we were not able to giveaway school supplies and backpacks.

2019 Back To School Supply Drive

In 2019, we were able to partner with Athens Neighborhood Health Center and giveaway 300 backpacks. The great thing about this event is that it allowed the entire community to come together and have a good time. Dreams To Kings and Queens was grateful to be a part of this.

2018 Back To School Supply Drive

In 2018, we were able to give out 275 backpacks to children at East Athens Summer Camp and Lay Park Summer Camp. It was important to us that every kid went home with a backpack & school supplies on the last day of camp. We want to thank everyone that helped us out with accomplishing this!

2017 Back To School Supply Drive

In 2017, we were able to increase our number of backpacks given away to 250. Dreams To Kings and Queens hand delivered over half of the backpacks to low income families throughout Athens, Georgia and Atlanta, Georgia. The rest of the backpacks were distributed throughout various schools in those areas and the Athens Area Homeless Shelter.

2016 Back To School Supply Drive

In 2016, this was our first year doing a back to school drive. We were able to distribute 75 backpacks throughout schools in Athens. We met our goal and were able to help out a lot of kids that did not have the necessary supplies for the first day of school. After we had passed out all backpacks we received a last minute donation from Christina Carnes Photography and were able to fill up a numerous amount of boxes with school supplies to help out more school in need of supplies to give to students.
